Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
At Scenia ("we", "us") we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our websites (scenia.co and scenia.cl) and our mobile app, why we use it and the rights you have over it. If you are in Ireland or elsewhere in the European Economic Area, we process your data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data is Komet SpA, a company registered in Chile that operates Scenia. For any question about your personal data, write to us at [email protected].
2. What data we collect
On the website
- Invitations: when you answer an invitation on the web, we store your answer (I'm in / Can't make it) and, only if you type it, your name, so the person who invited you knows who is coming. Your browser remembers your answer locally so you can change it later.
- Contact and event forms: the details you send us, such as your name, email address, message or event information.
- Anonymous usage data: aggregated visit statistics, without cookies, through a privacy-friendly analytics tool.
- Spam protection: forms and invitation answers are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical data about your browser to tell people from bots.
In the app
- Preferences: categories, city and the events you save or add to your calendar, to personalise your suggestions and reminders.
- Invitations: the invitations you send and receive, and who has answered them.
- Notifications: if you turn them on, a device identifier to send you reminders and alerts.
- Approximate location: only if you allow it, to show you events near you on the map.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To provide the service you ask for — showing events, saving your calendar, sending and answering invitations, reminders (performance of a contract).
- To answer your messages and review event proposals (our legitimate interest in responding to you).
- To keep the website and app working and secure, including spam protection (legitimate interest).
- Notifications and location — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your phone's settings.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Who we share it with
We only share data with providers that help us run the service — hosting and content delivery (Cloudflare), database (Supabase) and email delivery — who process it on our behalf under confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Our team and some of our providers are located outside the European Economic Area. When your data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above, or while the law requires us to keep it. After that, we delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to[email protected] and we will reply within one month.
If you are in Ireland and think we have not handled your data properly, you can also complain to the Data Protection Commission.
8. Children
Scenia is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. If you are under 16, please use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep the risks as low as possible.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
